MyScript InkSearch is an SDK extension tailored to MyScript Builder, based on ground-breaking MyScript technology that turns handwriting into searchable information. MyScript InkSearch provides the tools to create a search engine that retrieves all words, even those that are not in the dictionary, such as a brand name or a person's name.

Search engine for handwritten content

MyScript InkSearch works through a system of indexes and queries. Handwritten material is indexed, either in advance or just prior to searching and the search query can use several criteria and operators. The query runs through the index and will quickly find the handwritten information searched upon. The results are listed as handwriting or can be followed up with a recognition process to obtain digital text.

Look at an example application

Here is an example of an InkSearch application prototype.

This interface lets the end-user search through his/her notes as if it were a standard web or file search.

• The user can choose where to look and in what language the notes should be. A simple word query, that can be case sensitive if required, is enough to find matches for the query keyword in the handwritten source material.
• The InkSearch process searches through the indexes that were created beforehand and displays its results in a list.
• The list contains scores: these are confidence scores, to help the user evaluate the relevance of the information found.
• Click each result to see the source handwritten notes in the preview pane. What's more, the search takes just a couple of seconds!
